Leeds International is a private, fee levying, English medium, co-educational Institute comprising five schools. The main school in Panadura was founded on 23rd August 1999 and later, four more schools were started in the main towns of Matara, Galle, Payagala and Horana.

LIS, Panadura has a student population of about 1300. The academic staff comprising of 134 members is highly qualified and experienced. Classes are conducted from Grade 1 to 12 serving the 5 -18 year age group. The Nursery section caters to students in the age range of 2 ½ - 5 years.

The school motto is ‘Strive for Excellence’ and in keeping with the motto, the school maintains high academic standards. The well equipped science and computer laboratories and libraries provide adequate support for the teaching / learning process.
